For decades, I have had the privilege of working in real estate in Racine County and I’ve never seen an opportunity as significant as what we are seeing with Foxconn. We’re talking billions of dollars and thousands of jobs. But for a Realtor like me, I can’t help but be excited for what I fully anticipate will be a housing boom unlike any Racine County has ever seen.
Thousands of jobs means thousands of people relocating to Racine County, bringing with them their families. That means we will need new housing options — single-family, multi-family, condos and townhouses. New housing options means an influx of new construction, bringing with it even more jobs. An investment like this also elicits confidence in the market. Investors will consider Racine County a great and safe place to invest, and I think existing homeowners will see great opportunities to sell their homes at a profit and move into the next level of housing. It’s the ripple effect of an investment like this, and I think we’re going to see its impact for decades to come.
I’ve had the unique opportunity to watch people move to Racine County from somewhere else. In almost every case, they fall in love with our community. We have a prime location, we have lakes and beach fronts and we have an active arts and cultural community. What’s not to love about Racine County? I am looking forward to introducing thousands of new residents to our community.
