Racine is a city in transition, facing formidable challenges and pursuing great possibilities. We are fortunate that Cory Mason is a candidate for mayor of Racine in this unique moment.
While Racine stands to benefit from new economic opportunities, these opportunities are closely tied to the strength of our educational system and the health of our environment. Cory Mason recognizes that these are complementary, not incompatible goals, and that the inclusion and participation of the whole community will be necessary to achieve them.
Equally important is Mason’s demonstrated commitment to open government. Recently, he received an award from the Wisconsin Freedom of Information Council for introducing a bill in each of his five terms that would require the Legislature to hold its meetings in public. This belief in clear and transparent government, historically a Wisconsin tradition, will serve the city well.
Cory Mason and his family are deeply rooted in the Racine community. His positive vision for Racine will unite individuals, organizations and surrounding communities to make this a flourishing place to live.
A vote for Cory Mason on Oct. 17 is a vote for a city government that will work for all.
