It's in the news on a daily basis that we read about a fatal shooting, use of a vehicle as a weapon to kill, and more murder and mayhem across America. Didn't used to be this way in America.
But, since we are a post-Christian nation, that's what we reap. Back in the 1600's, "execution sermons" were preached to the public and the criminal was given opportunity to repent of his crime. I read of a judge in the 1800's who sentenced a man to death for some heinous crime, but also allotted time for biblical counseling and opportunity for the convict to make his peace with his Creator.
Such was the justice system in a rich Bible honoring America. Putting heinous criminals in prison to rot for decades shows no compassion; swift execution would be the compassionate and just remedy to tragic episodes. A short amount of time allotted for biblical counseling and choice to repent or not. Then dispatch him to his eternal destination.
