On Tuesday, Jan. 21, my daughter was driving her van with five children and her dog on 21st Street when a man was trying to get her attention. He alerted her to the fact that smoke was coming out of the rear of the van.
She pulled into the Goodwill Industries parking lot and opened the rear doors to find the smoke quite heavy. She got all the children and dog and personal items out just in time when the van was engulfed in flames.
This "man" that alerted her saved all their lives. We don't know how we can possibly thank him. If he would get in touch with me, we would really like to thank him in person. The van was a total loss. But everyone was safe even the dog and that's what is most important. Thanks be to God.
