Volunteers help create bright holiday season

Working with the Volunteer Center of Racine County (gift wrap station) and Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin (Giving Tree program) during the holiday season at Regency Mall not only shows the generosity of the many volunteers and gift providers, but how they are passing those qualities down to their children.

Over the years, we have seen many of the same people providing gifts for the Giving Tree program, many who once came as children, and are now bringing their own children, teaching them the unselfishness of giving to those in need. It is heartwarming to see the smiles of these people giving of their time and money out of the goodness of their hearts to provide a child with a bright holiday season. The Giving Tree program provides donated gifts to local needy children, working through the Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin Community Services programs in Racine and Kenosha County.

The holiday gift wrap program partners with the Volunteer Center of Racine County, and provides volunteers to wrap gifts for shoppers in exchange for donations. Al Volmut of the Volunteer Center is truly an inspiration to our community, and we look forward to working with him and his crew next year.

Thanks to several stores in the mall for donating needed boxes to the gift wrap station. Each and every box was appreciated and used.

Thank you everyone for your continued support of these truly needed programs.
