RACINE — For a second time in a little over a week, another power outage was reported near Regency Mall.

The outage was reported at about 12:45 p.m. Wednesday and affected 320 customers, according to a We Energies spokeswoman. Customers reported outages around Durand Avenue, Cozy Acres Road, Green Bay Road and Wood Road. Power was restored to customers by 2 p.m.

The spokeswoman said a suspected fault in an underground cable was to blame for the incident. She said customers were rerouted and bridged to another source.

Another power outage on Oct. 3 disrupted traffic and some businesses near Regency Mall for about three hours. The outage was also reportedly caused by a faulty underground cable and affected traffic signals in the area.

We Energies is still looking into repairing potential damage, the spokeswoman said.
