RACINE — For the second time in as many months, the 3919 Washington Ave. Family Dollar was the target of a robbery Sunday at about 1:45 p.m., according to the Racine Police Department.
According to police, a man covering his face with what appeared to be panty hose allegedly took money from the store’s register, stuffed it into a white plastic Family Dollar bag and fled west.
The suspect did not openly display a weapon, but what looked like either a pipe or the barrel of a shotgun was seen protruding from his sleeve, the store’s cashier told police.
Police said they do not have anyone in custody from the alleged robbery at this time, but are seeking one suspect described as a heavyset black man, approximately 6 feet, 2 inches.

Another man robbed the same Family Dollar location this September, pointing a black revolver at the cashier before making off with cash from the register. That suspect was later apprehended by police and charged with armed robbery.
