RACINE - Annie D. 'Boss Lady' Miller, 56, passed away at St. Mary's Medical Center on Friday night, April 12, 2002. Annie was born in Jasper County, Miss. on November 13, 1945, to Carrie D. (nee: Buckley) Bostick and the late Ezra Burns. Annie moved to Racine in 1957 at the age of 12. Annie had worked for Greene Manufacturing from 1964 until the doors were closed in 1997. She was last employed by Eckman Press Metals until her illness in September of 2000. Annie was one of the initial founders of the Posse Social Club (1990). She became known as the 'Boss Lady.' Annie served as the National President. Annie had given her life to Christ at an early age and was a current member of Zoe Outreach Ministries. Annie fought a good fight and she will be sadly missed. Survivors include her mother, Carrie D. Bostic of Racine; two daughters, Beatrice Miller of Racine and Denise (Edward) Silas of Broadview, Ill.; one son, Marcus King of Racine; three granddaughters, LaTrice Tiller, Alexia Hamilton, both of Racine, and Alayah Silas of Broadview, Ill.; two grandsons, Teevun Thomas and Kendell Days of Racine; four brothers, Robert, Edward, Joe, and Hurdis Burns; one sister, Vera Burns; and two special friends, Monica Dixon and Barbara Williams. She was preceded in death by her father, Ezra Burns. Funeral services will be held at the St. Paul Baptist Church, 1123 Center Street, on Saturday, April 20, 2002, at 10 a.m. with the Rev. Melvin Hargrove officiating. Interment will take place at West Lawn Memorial Park. Visitation will take place at the church on Saturday from 8:30 a.m. until the time of service. The family would like to thank Dr. Mullane and Oncology of Wisconsin for their dedication and commitment to cancer patients.
