RACINE — A 6-year-old girl is OK after being hit by a pickup truck at about 8 p.m. Friday near North Beach, according to the Racine Police Department.

The girl reportedly was struck after darting out into the road on Hoffert Drive, said police Sgt. Adam Malacara.

She was transported to Wheaton Franciscan-All Saints hospital, 3801 Spring St., with non-life-threatening injuries, Malacara said.

The names of the girl and the pickup driver were not available Saturday. The driver was issued two citations, one for unreasonable and imprudent speed and one for driving without a license, Malacara said.
