YORKVILLE — St. Catherine’s High School hosted the 17th Annual McGuire-Letsch Golf Scramble on Sept. 29, at Ives Grove Golf Course, 14101 Washington Ave.

The Scramble this year was altered slightly with the addition of honoring the legacy of long-time player and coach at St. Catherine’s High School, Robert C. Letsch. Judy McGuire, wife of the late John McGuire, announced her intention of adding Bob’s name to the event last year at the dinner. “Honoring Bob this way was important to Judy. Bob and John should be together. They belong together,” explained Judy McGuire.

This year’s scramble had unprecedented attendance and generated record-breaking revenue through registrations, a lively auction and generous donations to the challenge.

The McGuire-Letsch Scramble funds the yearly student awards provided previously as the John F. Memorial Scholarship. This year’s event raised more than $20,000 and over the past 16 years the event has generated over $200,000.
