McTeacher’s Nights to benefit Fratt, Gilmore schools

RACINE — A McTeacher’s Night benefiting Fratt Elementary School will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 10, at McDonald’s, 2100 Lathrop Ave.; and one benefiting Gilmore Middle School will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 17, at McDonald’s, 3037 Douglas Ave.

Students, parents and school supporters are invited to participate in McTeacher’s Nights. During the events, school staff members work behind the counter at local McDonald’s restaurants to raise money for Racine Unified School District schools.

For their efforts, McDonald’s will donate a portion of all sales garnered during the program’s two-hour period to Fratt Elementary School and Gilmore Middle School.

Math Path Program offered at The Prairie School

WIND POINT — The Math Path program will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 12, in the Student Research Center at The Prairie School, 4050 Lighthouse Drive, Wind Point.

This parents-only evening is designed to familiarize parents with the evolution of mathematics education. National math expert Amanda Serenevy and members of The Prairie School faculty will present this program.

This event is open to the public. Attendees are asked to enter through door number 7.

Racine Lutheran’s fall concert set

for Saturday

RACINE — Racine Lutheran High School’s fall concert begins at 7 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 14, at the school, 251 Luedtke Ave.

The grade school Beginner and Symphonic bands will join the Racine Lutheran High School Concert Choir, Concert Band and Handbell Ensemble.

Montessori First Steps program

to be offered

RACINE — A Montessori First Steps program will be offered at Small World Montessori School, 1008 High St.

The session will be held from 9 to 10 a.m. Oct. 20, Nov. 3 and 17 and Dec. 1. The parent discussion meetings will be held from 6 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 14.

This program gives parents the opportunity to spend quality time with their very young child (birth-30 months), allowing young children the ability to explore an enriched Montessori classroom with the security of the child’s parent/caregiver.

Parents will also learn about various topics relating to child development and parenting, enjoying the opportunity to observe children interacting with age-appropriate activities and peacefully playing with peers.
