Magnet elementary school orientation set

RACINE — Magnet school orientation, open to all families interested in enrolling, will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 14, and 5 to 6 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 16, at Red Apple Elementary School, 914 St. Patrick St.

Red Apple Elementary School is Racine Unified School District’s STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Allied Arts and Math), school where all instruction centers on those five components. Red Apple Elementary School offers opportunities for students to use technology such as classroom computers, Chromebook and MacBook carts throughout the school. They also have a green screen area for classes to use for special projects.

McTeacher’s Night to benefit Johnson School

RACINE — A McTeacher’s Night benefiting Johnson Elementary School will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 14, at McDonald’s, 2100 Lathrop Ave.

Students, parents and school supporters are invited to participate in McTeacher’s Nights. During the events, school staff members work behind the counter at local McDonald’s restaurants to raise money for Racine Unified School District schools.

For their efforts, McDonald’s will donate a portion of all sales garnered during the program’s two-hour period to Johnson Elementary School.

Gifford Planetarium to offer moon program

CALEDONIA — An evening program “Back to the Moon for Good” will be held from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday and Thursday, Nov. 14 and 16, in the Planetarium at Gifford Elementary School, 8332 Northwestern Ave.

Narrated by Tim Allen, the program is about the $30 million Google Lunar XPRIZE that will be awarded to the first team to land a privately funded robotic spacecraft on the moon.

Horlick Holiday Fair set for Saturday

RACINE — The Horlick Holiday Fair will be held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 18, at Horlick High School, 2119 Rapids Drive.

The fair features more than 100 vendors, silent auction, sports memorabilia, handcrafted items, gift items, food and refreshments.

The fair is sponsored by the Horlick Student Government.

Bowling for a Field fundraising event planned

MOUNT PLEASANT — The new Case High School baseball field 9-pin fundraising event “Bowling for a Field” will begin at noon on Saturday, Dec. 9, at The Lanes, 6501 Washington Ave.

This fundraising event will help the Case High School baseball team create a field of dreams. The event will include raffle baskets, top bowler prizes, a 50/50 raffle. Case High School baseball gear will also be available.

Starbuck Middle School Holiday Fair is Dec. 9

RACINE — Starbuck Middle School's Holiday Fair will be held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 9, at the school, 1516 Ohio St.
