Racine Unified School District holds Transition Day 2018
RACINE — Transition Day will be held from 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday, March 24, in the Racine Building at Gateway Technical College, 1001 Main St. Transition Day is an opportunity for students with disabilities and their families to attend a half-day workshop to learn about how to prepare and be successful in life after high school.
Students and their families will have the opportunity to learn about adult agencies, college, finances (including Social Security) and recreation activities.
This event is free to attend, and free breakfast and lunch will be provided.
Waterford FFA Alumni sponsors spring vendor/craft show March 24
WATERFORD — The FFA Alumni will sponsor the annual spring vendor/craft show from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, March 24, in the Commons at Waterford High School, 100 Field Drive, Waterford.
There will booths featuring Easter and Mother’s Day items, vendors, crafters, many different commercial products and handcrafted items. The Waterford High School Booster Club will provide lunch, a bake sale will be hosted by the Waterford FFA members, and the Cloverview 4-H will offer a raffle.
Admission is $1. All proceeds go to the FFA scholarship fund. For more information call 262-534-2071.
Drought School hosts free child find screener event
NORWAY — A free child find screener will be held from 1 to 2:30 p.m. Monday, March 26, at Drought School, 21016 W. Seven Mile Road.
This is an opportunity for parents to explore their child’s development with Drought School staff. Any child in the Norway J7 School District, 3 to 5 years old and not yet enrolled in kindergarten is welcome.
The child-find program screens children for speech and language skills, motor skills and cognitive development. Families will have the opportunity to discuss screening results.

Park swim team to host competitive swim camp
RACINE — The Park High School swim team is hosting its fifth annual Panther competitive swim camp from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. April 16-19 and 23-26, at Park High School, 1901 12th St. Students are asked to enter through the pool doors on Valley Drive.
Learn basic competitive strokes including the backstroke, breaststroke, butterfly, free style, starts and turns. This camp is for sixth- through eighth-grade students of all skill levels. Students will be asked to bring a towel, a one-piece swimsuit, goggles and a swim cap.
Registration prior to the camp is preferred, as there are a limited number of spaces available. The deadline to register is Wednesday, March 28. Cost to attend is $25 per person, which includes a swim camp T-shirt. For more information, contact coach Greg Reischel at 262-635-0642.
