KENOSHA COUNTY — The McKinley Tutoring program, an Early Grade Reading Initiative that helps children build the critical reading skills needed to succeed in school and life, is seeking volunteer tutors.
The tutoring program recruits, trains and places volunteers in the school. Volunteers for the upcoming spring semester will work one-on-one with kindergarten students during the school day to supplement the work they are doing in the classroom.
Volunteers are needed for 30-minute tutoring sessions held during the school day for the remainder of the 2018 spring semester. Volunteers are asked to commit to one tutoring session per week until the end of the school year. All tutoring sessions are held at McKinley Elementary School, 5520 32nd Ave., Kenosha. Training sessions will be available at the school in late January.
