RACINE — Seventeen students and two chaperones from Racine’s sister city, Montélimar, France, are visiting Racine, April 8-15. The delegation represents Lycée Alain Borne, a school in Montélimar.
This is a continuation of an exchange begun in 2014. Among a variety of experiences, the delegation will be immersed in the high school environments of the Racine Unified School District as well as The Prairie School. Home stays with Racine area families will expose them to family life in America.
Included in the planned activities are visits to the Racine Heritage Museum to investigate the French influence on Racine’s early development, an audience with Mayor Cory Mason, appointments with local public service departments, a visit to Carthage College, as well as experience other nearby attractions.
In the spring of 2019 Racine Sister City Planning Council is organizing a return visit to Montélimar of Racine area students. Those interested or for more information should contact the Sister City Planning Council through Facebook www.Facebook.com/SisterCityPlannningCouncil-RacineWI.
