RACINE — Several Racine Unified School District students excelled in the State French Contest in Wisconsin Rapids on April 27. Students had to qualify for the state contest at the regional contest at Carthage College.
Gilmore Middle School seventh-graders Fernanda Jimenez and Angela Arnold presented in the poetry category and both earned a gold medal.
Park High School students Carley Thomas, Austin Rosa, Claire Weyers and Josie LoCurto presented in the Readers’ Theater category and received a gold medal.
Park High School student Josie Locurto presented a poem and received gold medal.
Park High School student Orianna Perry qualified for the state contest but was unable to attend.
McKinley Middle School eighth-grader Nyomi Infusino received all A’s at the regional competition and qualified for the state competition, but she was unable to attend.
McKinley Middle School eighth-grader Margret Hinze received all A’s in the regional competition and again received all A’s at the state competition.
