YORKVILLE — The operator of a motorcycle was taken by Flight For Life to Froedtert Hospital in Wauwatosa Thursday following an early morning accident in the 20600 block of Durand Avenue, according to a press release from the Racine County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies arrived on scene after receiving a 4:34 a.m. emergency call to find the drivers of a 2001 Ford F250 and a 2010 Harley Davidson both injured in the accident.

The motorcycle operator is being treated for suspected head injuries, although he was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash. The driver of the pickup truck was taken to St. Catherine’s Hospital in Kenosha for what appeared to be non-life threatening injuries, the release said. It is unknown if the truck driver was wearing a seat belt.

A preliminary investigation indicated that the truck was westbound when it fully crossed into the eastbound lanes and struck the motorcyclist, the release said.

Further information on the medical conditions of the drivers is not known. The accident remains under investigation by the Sheriff’s Office and State Patrol.
