SALEM LAKES — A teen who reportedly wrote a threatening message on the bathroom stall of a southwestern Kenosha County high school has been apprehended.
On Monday, a school resource officer reported a threatening message had been found on a men's bathroom stall at Wilmot Union High School, 11112 308th Ave. The message allegedly said “shoot up the school,” according to a Kenosha County Sheriff's Department release.
A deputy assigned as the school resource officer allegedly viewed hundreds of hours of school video before questioning a 16-year-old male student. The student subsequently confessed to the crime, the release said.
The investigation was a cooperative and thorough effort of the school resource office and school officials, the release said. The juvenile suspect's case is being referred to the Kenosha District Attorney’s Office and Kenosha County Juvenile Intake for review.
