RACINE —  City police are investigating a Monday night shooting incident in which a person was shot in the hand.

Police were called at 6:30 p.m. Monday to the 1600 block of Edgewood Avenue for a report of shots fired, according to Racine Police Sgt. Adam Malacara.

The victim was reportedly standing outside waiting for a ride when a vehicle pulled up, Malacara said. Someone allegedly fired several shots from the back seat of the vehicle. The victim was struck in the hand but received minor injuries, Malacara said.

No one was in custody as of Monday afternoon and the investigation was ongoing, Malacara said.
