RACINE COUNTY — Multiple cars ended up in ditches early Friday morning due to snowy conditions, but nothing major was reported, according to the Racine County Sheriff’s Office.

“We had six cars in the ditch since 6 in the morning,” Sgt. David Coughlin of the Racine County Sheriff’s Office said at about 8:30 a.m.

“It’s all driver-related. They are driving too fast,” he said.

Overnight the city of Racine got 3.5 inches of snow, and west of Interstate 94 Union Grove got 4 inches, according to Rudy Schaar, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service in Sullivan.

Coughlin’s advice for drivers is simple. “Slow down… Leave early,” Coughlin said. “You will get there on time and alive.”
