CITY OF BURLINGTON — Officials with Kenosha-based health care provider United Hospital System are in talks with City of Burlington Mayor Bob Miller about the possibility of locating a facility in the city.

Miller said Monday that discussions are still very preliminary but he is eager to see what hospital officials are considering.

“We are in the process of talking with them to see exactly what they want to do,” Miller said. “It is a matter of sitting down with them, and seeing what they are capable of, and what the city is capable of helping them with. This all very, very preliminary.”

Miller said one of the preliminary things the parties have talked about is “going back to a community-based type hospital,” something he said Burlington doesn’t have currently.

United Hospital System currently has locations in Kenosha, Pleasant Prairie, Paddock Lake, and Gurnee, Ill.
