Woman sprayed with pepper spray
A 38-year-old woman was sprayed in the face with pepper spray just after 9 a.m. Dec. 3 near the intersection of North Newman Road and Highway 38.
According to Sheriff's Department reports, the woman was going to confront another motorist about a case of alleged road rage that began after both women were at Gifford Elementary on Highway K in the Franksville area.
According to the victim, her unknown assailant had been driving erratically and cutting her off since the two women left the school lot.
The victim said when she caught up with the suspect, she left her car, walked toward the suspect's vehicle and went to try the door handle of the other car. The suspect then threatened and ultimately sprayed the other woman.
The victim was taken by Mount Pleasant paramedics to Wheaton Franciscan-All Saints hospital, 3801 Spring St., for treatment of difficulty with breathing and eye irritation.
Deputies returned to the school later in the week to look for the suspect's vehicle, but they had not located the driver at the time the report was filed.
RACINE
Burglary reported at hair salon
An estimated $587 worth of hair styling equipment was taken from a storage closet at Yolonda's Hair Salon, 1400 Washington Ave., after a break-in that occurred sometime between noon Tuesday and 9 a.m. Wednesday.
Items reported taken include hair dryers, hair dye and relaxers and a brief case.
Police believe entry was made though a doorway that leads to a common stairway used by apartment residents in the building.
RACINE
Computer equipment taken at Gateway
A computer and two flash drives were taken from an instructor's desk sometime between 9:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at a building at Gateway Technical College. 1001 Main St.
The victim, a 32-year-old Mount Pleasant man, said the flash drives contained student information, test scores and final exams from the last couple of years.
Gateway security personnel told police they would review video surveillance images for potential leads in the case.
RACINE
Coach's vehicle burglarized
A football coach's SUV was broken into sometime between 7 a.m. and 10 a.m. Tuesday while it was parked at Horlick High School, 219 Rapids Drive.
According to police reports, missing items include a GPS system, a Macintosh laptop computer and a laptop case. Estimated value of the missing items is $2,700.
Police said a driver's side window was broken.
UNION GROVE
Retaliation may be reason for egging
Three teenagers were cited for criminal damage to property Dec. 5 for egging the house of a woman who earlier had scolded the boys for throwing snowballs at another juvenile.
The woman's home is located in the 700 block of 17th Avenue. Issued tickets were a 14-year-old Union Grove boy, a 17-year-old Union Grove boy and a 15-year-old Caledonia boy.
The woman told sheriff's deputies she had yelled at the boys when they were pelting another boy with snowballs, despite his repeated pleas to stop. After the woman scolded the boys, they mocked her, using vulgar words in the process.
