RACINE — Want cake? Join Rep. Cory Mason, D-Racine, at the Racine Public Library Thursday night.
This year marks the demisemiseptcentennial of the settlement of the area. It has been 175 years since the first permanent settlement was established, several years before the actual creation of the city.
Danish layer cake and beverages will be served, from 5 to 7 p.m., in the second floor east reading room, of the Racine Public Library, 75 Seventh St. The event is free and open to the public.
On Nov. 5 the state Assembly and Senate approved a resolution honoring Racine’s demisemiseptcentennial. Copies of the resolution will be available, along with a large display version which will be kept at the library.
In case you were wondering, Mason says he is paying for the food himself.
