Racine Unified superintendent finalist Lolli Haws has dropped out of the candidate pool for a similar job in Minnesota, she told The Journal Times on Thursday.
Haws was slated to interview Thursday evening for superintendent of the St. Cloud Area School District in St. Cloud, Minn. She was one of seven finalists for that job, according to the St. Cloud Times.
But Haws dropped out of the running, she said, because “I’m moving forward with Racine.”
Haws entered into superintendent contract negotiations with the Racine Unified School Board on Wednesday. The negotiations are likely to take several weeks, Unified Board President Dennis Wiser has said.
Haws, 58, of Fairfax, Va., is currently an instructional superintendent overseeing 13 Washington, D.C., public schools.
