RACINE –When Park and Horlick high school wrestling teams face off today at Park, they will be competing against each other but both will be competing for the same cause – in memory of a former coach.
Both teams will be dedicating their match to honor former teacher and coach Paul Stephen “Steve” Case, who coached wrestling at both Park and Horlick high schools. Case also coached football at Park High School and during his teaching career taught foreign language at Park High School as well as Mitchell Middle School.
He died Oct. 12 at age 68. Case, an avid sailor, was sailing in the annual Great Chesapeake Bay Schooner Race and, after crossing the finish line, was knocked overboard.
The wrestling match will be at 7 p.m. at Park High School in “the pit.”
Also at the match, his family will be making an announcement about the Steve Case Memorial Scholarship fund.
