Wesley Swamer of 5855 Kinzie Ave., Mount Pleasant, will celebrate his 90th birthday during lunch at St. Edward Catholic Church hall with family and a few friends at a later date.

Swamer was born on April 20, 1923, in Columbus, Wis. He moved to Madison in 1925.

Swamer married the former Doris Lee on Aug. 3, 1946, in Madison. The couple moved to Racine in 1953 and will celebrate their 67th wedding anniversary in August.

Swamer was employed by the former Red Dot Foods in Madison in 1948. Red Dot Foods merged with Frito-Lay Inc. in 1960. Swamer retired from Frito-Lay in 1986.

He is a member of the Knights of Columbus, a former Jaycee and enjoys golfing, playing cards and crossword puzzles. Swamer is a member of St. Edward Catholic Church where he was co-chair of the summer festivals, an usher and trustee.

Swamer has four children: Jaclyn (Donald) Grabher of Waukesha; Jerry of North Wales, Pa.; Carolyn “Kitty” (David) Charo of Racine, and the late Douglas Swamer.

Swamer has seven grandchildren.
