SOMERS — A Star Wars Extravaganza with various events will be held at the University of Wisconsin-Parkside, 900 Wood Road.

“Star Wars: Nostalgia Awakens,” an exhibit of Star Wars collectibles, will be held through Dec. 20 in the Mathis Gallery.

A free public viewing of “Star Wars VII: The Force Awakens” will be shown at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 21, in the UW-Parkside Student Center Cinema. After the viewing, there will be a panel discussion titled “Force of Star Wars: Communication Perspectives.”

Ken Liu, American science-fiction and fantasy writer and translator of science fiction and literary stories from Chinese to English, will lead a discussion of his novel, “The Legends of Luke Skywalker,” from noon to 1 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 29, in The Rita 131.

The grand finale of the events will be topped off with announcing the winners of the Star Wars Fan Fiction Contest at 5 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 30, in The Rita 131. The contest was open to area high school students.
