KENOSHA — The Travel Adventure Series continues at 7 p.m. Thursday, April 19, with a showing of “Guatemala: Land of the Maya” at Kenosha Public Museum, 5500 First Ave. Doors open at 6:15 p.m.

Guatemala is a land of natural and culture diversity that is just beginning to emerge from the shadow of a long civil war. A land with deep roots, anchored in the mysteries of the Lost Kingdoms of the Maya. Explore the achievements of the ancient Maya by visiting fabled places like El Mirador, Tikal and Yaxha. Examine the historic tension between Mayan traditions and Spanish colonialism, and discover the world-class textiles of contemporary Mayan culture.

Admission is $5. There is no charge for ages 15 and younger.
