RACINE — Over Our Head Players will hold open auditions for “Bakersfield Mist,” a sassy comedy/drama based on an actual incident by Stephan Sachs. Auditions will be held at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 20, at Sixth Street Theatre, 318 Sixth St.
Maude, an unemployed bartender living in a trailer park, has bought a painting from a thrift store as a gag gift. Now, she’s convinced it’s a lost Jackson Pollock masterpiece worth millions. But when world-class art expert Lionel Percy arrives to authenticate the painting, he has no idea what he is about to discover. Inspired by true events, class and culture clash in a hilarious punch of edgy dialogue and tingling bite.
One male actor is needed, age range 55-80, and one female actor is needed, age range 45 to 60 or older. Auditions involve cold readings from the script.
Volunteers are also needed in technical capacities, including stage management, light design, sound design, running crew, costumes, props, set building and ushers.
