RACINE — The fourth annual Peace, Protest and Planet Songfest and Sing-along will be held at 7 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 16, at Olympia Brown Unitarian Universalist Church, 625 College Ave. The program is free and open to the public.
This year’s program will feature songs from the works of Pete Seeger, Bob Dylan, Woody Guthrie, Glen Campbell, John Denver and others. Participating artists include Tony Pavao, Joel Fuerstenau, Tony Larsen, Judith Christianson and Lisa Friedrich.
The first Songfest, held on Sept. 5, 2015, was a memorial concert for folk singer and activist Pete Seeger.
Those attending are encouraged to contribute food or money to HALO or St. Luke’s Hospitality Center. The Songfest series is sponsored by the Racine Coalition for Peace and Justice. For information, call Wayne G. Johnson at 262-554-1613.
