MOUNT PLEASANT — A ladies luncheon to benefit the Health Care Network will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday, April 27, at Delta Hotels by Marriott Racine, 7111 Washington Ave.
The luncheon will feature stand-up comedian Patti Vasquez, host of "The Patti Vasquez Show" on WGN Radio and co-creator of the upcoming series, “Patti Happens."
Vasquez, who was born and raised in Chicago, created a company called With Kind Words in which she provides consultation for healthcare providers. She urges them to consider the emotional readiness of every member of the team, from the health professional to the caretakers, as they strive to ensure the best possible outcome. She incorporates humor and personal experiences as the mother of a child with special needs to lead her audience on an intellectual and emotional journey. She has shared her presentation with humor and heart for groups such as the Central DuPage Hospital, Iowa Department of Education, The Hope Network and Gilda’s Club.
Tickets cost $50 each or $500 for a table of 10. Go to http://healthcarenetwork.org or call 262-632-2400. Health Care Network is a nonprofit organization that provides free or low-cost health care to Racine County residents who have no health insurance and are of limited financial means.
