SOMERS — The University of Wisconsin-Parkside Foreign Film Series continues with the 2016 Chile film, “Neruda,” with six showings March 8-11 in the UW-Parkside Student Cinema, 900 Wood Road.
It is 1948 and Pablo Neruda is the poet laureate of Chile, and part of the political scene as a senator representing the Communist Party. When the president declares communism against the law, a perilous cat-and-mouse game ensues between the poet and police.
Screenings are at 7:30 p.m. Thursday and Friday, 5 and 8 p.m. Saturday, and 2 and 5 p.m. Sunday. Season tickets cost $27, $25 for students and seniors. Season tickets include three free guest passes. Tickets are not sold for individual films. Go to www.uwp.edu/foreignfilms or call 262-595-2307.
