RACINE — The BONK! performance series will host its first-ever “BONK!-athon” fundraiser in a special after-hours event at 4 p.m. Saturday, April 21, at the Racine Public Library, 75 Seventh St.
BONK!athon is a pledge-driven fundraiser where people raise money for a five-minute performance slot on stage to perform a poem, song, dance, short story, monologue, skit, comedy routine, etc. This marathon of talent will continue for four to six hours depending on number of performers.
There are still a few available slots for performers and artists of all ages to perform at the event. At least $35 must be raised for each five-minute slot. Proceeds will go towards funding future BONK! events, particularly to paying featured performers and supporting volunteers.
Admission for spectators is $10. There is no charge ages 12 and younger. Audience members are not expected to stay the entire time, but are welcome to come and go throughout the event. Food and beverages will be sold and a 50/50 raffle will be held. Space will be designated for socializing away from the performances.
