SALEM — Christian Youth Theater of Kenosha will present "Annie, Jr." Nov. 9-12 at Wilmot High School Performing Arts Center, 11112 308th Ave.

Based on the popular comic strip and adapted from the Tony Award-winning Best Musical, "Annie, Jr." features everyone’s favorite little redhead in her very first adventure. With equal measures of pluck and positivity, little orphan Annie charms everyone's hearts despite a next-to-nothing start in 1930's New York City.

Annie is determined to find the parents who abandoned her years ago on the doorstep of an orphanage run by the cruel Miss Hannigan. Annie eventually foils Miss Hannigan's evil machinations, finding a new home and family in billionaire Oliver Warbucks, his personal secretary, Grace Farrell, and a lovable mutt named Sandy. The show features the songs "It's A Hard Knock Life," "Tomorrow" and "Maybe."

Shows are at 9:30 a.m. and 11:45 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 9; 10 a.m. and 7 p.m. Friday, Nov. 10; 2 and 6 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 11, and 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 12. Ticket prices range from $9 to $14. Go to www.cytchicago.org for tickets.

Christian Youth Theater of Kenosha, formerly Spotlight Youth Theater, is made up of children from Kenosha and surrounding areas ages 8-18 who put on three Broadway-style musicals each year.
