RACINE — Enjoy the nostalgia of the holidays wrapped up in a lively musical retelling in “A Christmas Carol: The Musical” Dec. 1-17 at the Racine Theatre Guild, 2519 Northwestern Ave.

The musical transports the audience into Charles Dickens’s classic tale of Scrooge, an old miser who’s only motivation is money and wealth. On Christmas Eve, he is visited by three ghosts who help show him the true spirit of the holidays: charity, family and love. The show feature music by Alan Menken and lyrics by Lynn Ahrens.

Bringing the magic of the London streets to life on stage are 38 actors and actresses singing, dancing and weaving the audience into Dickens’s tale.

Performances take place at 7 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays, and at 2 p.m. Sundays. There will be additional 2 p.m. shows Dec. 9 and 16, and an extra 7 p.m. performance Sunday, Dec. 10.
