WATERFORD — “The Pianist” will be shown at 1 p.m. Friday, June 14, at Waterford Public Library, 101 N. River St.

The movie is the story of Wladyslaw Szpilman, a Polish Jew and concert pianist who witnessed the invasion of Warsaw, miraculously eluded the death camps and survived throughout World War II by hiding in the ruins of the Warsaw ghetto.

A concert by Kyle McNamara on the grand piano will follow the film from 4 to 5 p.m.

There is no admission fee.
