RACINE — Sleep in Heavenly Peace announced that Michael R. Prudhom of Racine is forming a Racine/Kenosha chapter of the organization to provide beds and bedding to ensure that every child in Racine and Kenosha has a bed.
Volunteers of the nonprofit organization are dedicated to building, assembling and delivering bunk beds to children and families in need. Donations are used in the purchase, assembly, development, materials, delivery and organization of the beds.
The local chapter also has a wish list of needed items:
- Twin-sized mattress covers
- Twin-sized sheets sets (fitted sheet, flat sheet, pillow case)
- Twin-sized comforters or blankets
- Enclosed trailer
- Prepaid gift card to Wal-Mart, Lowes or other retailers where materials are available
Delivery and building volunteers are also needed.
To fill out a request form for a bed, go to www.shpbeds.org/request-bed. A person must live in the Racine and Kenosha service area.
