RACINE — As a simple way to support priestly vocations beside prayer or financial support, Catholics in the Racine area can all help seminarians by donating something to the 10th annual Knights of Columbus Sentiments for Seminarians program.

Since they don’t get paid, have no jobs or vacations, it’s hard for them to obtain simple items like gas and gift cards; gloves, scarves and winter hats; pens, pencils, notebooks, paper and stationary; tissue, paper towel; antiperspirant and personal care items; shaving cream, aftershave, razors; soap, shampoo; toothbrushes, toothpaste, mouthwash; Ziploc bags and small food storage containers; and Windex and cleaning items

The most appreciated and by far the best items are gas cards; pre-paid gift cards like Master Card, Visa, department store, pharmacy and restaurant cards. Other items should be new or unused.

During November, items can be placed in containers at area churches designated for this drive. Knights of the parish will take care of collecting them for distribution to seminarians in the Milwaukee Archdiocese and throughout the state.

This drive will be held at Racine area parishes and is coordinated by Monsignor S.B. Witkowiak Council 697, St. Lucy Council 15659 and St. Louis Council 4831 of the Knights of Columbus. For more information, contact Bill Frayer, at 262-633-7887 or frayerfamily@yahoo.com.
