RACINE — The Homeless Assistance Leadership Organization, 2000 DeKoven Ave., invites the public to join them for A Day at HALO from noon to 3 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 17.

Staff will be available to give tours of the shelter and answer questions. Light snacks and refreshments will be available.

HALO provides shelter, food, clothing and case management for men, women and families with minor children experiencing homelessness. It has bed capacity for 120 people, and has been at or over capacity since June 26, according to a HALO press release. In October, 188 people were assisted, and 11,000 meals prepared and served either by volunteer meal makers or people in the shelter.
