Patricia Masik

Patricia Ann Masik

RACINE—Patricia Ann Masik was born Patricia Ann Olesen in Racine, WI on June 16, 1938. Patricia was the youngest of three children (Ray, Janet) her father, Christian Olesen, immigrated to Racine from Denmark at 15 and would go on to become the “O” in O&H Bakery. Her mother, Eunice, played violin in the Racine Symphony. Raised in Racine, she loved to dance and perform as a young girl. She met her future husband Joseph Masik Jr. when she was just 15. They were head over heels about each other and married in 1958, living life like two teenagers in love until Joseph passed away August 07, 2006.

They had four children (Christine Carol, Mary Elizabeth, Joseph, James and David Mark). Patricia worked by Joseph’s side to help build their company, Masik Tool & Die, Corp. and cared for her growing family. She was “the neighborhood mom” whose home was always full of kids. A beautiful person—smart, warm, fun loving, authentic, strong, sassy and wickedly funny—she was loved and admired by all who had the pleasure to know her.

Always the optimist, her glass was always half full, never half empty. Patricia loved to travel and had many interests and hobbies (she never met a slot machine she didn’t like) but all paled in comparison to her real passion which was her family. She lived a happy, wonderful life rich with love and laughter. Though she had her share of tragic chapters in her life story, her effervescent spirit would always come through it with grace and dignity. She continued to sing and dance in the kitchen to Sh-Boom until the very end. Patricia was surrounded by her family as she left this world. Reunited with her sweetheart, we imagine them dancing to Sh-Boom with their son Joey chasing behind her with snakes from the backyard while granddaughter Devon is on her phone annoyed there is no good Wi-Fi there.

Patricia was preceded in death by her parents Eunice and Christian Olesen, son Joseph James, brother Ray, husband Joseph Masik Jr., and granddaughter Devon Noel.

Survived by her children: Christine, Mary (Masik) & Ken Ewaskowitz, David & Sarah (Back) Masik. Grandchildren: James, Wade and Stephanie Andresen, Katherine Ewaskowitz, Christopher (CJ) Back, and Josie Masik. Great Grandchildren: Maxwell Joseph Andresen, Luna Lee Back and Joseph Martin Connolly. Her sister Janet (Whitey) Thomsen. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear friends.

Services will be held at West Lawn Memorial Park Chapel, 9000 Washington Ave. (Hwy 20) on Tuesday, December 5, 2017 at 12 noon. Visitation will be held from 10:30 a.m. until service time. Patricia will be laid to rest immediately following service.
