WATERFORD—Lois E. Krakofsky, 88, passed away peacefully at Waterford Senior Living on Tuesday, October 10, 2017.
Born in Chicago, IL on January 23, 1929, she was the daughter of Raymond and Esther (nee Martinsen) Andersen. She spent her early life in Chicago where she graduated from high school.
In 1952, in Burlington, she was united in marriage to James H. Krakofsky. Following marriage they made their home in Burlington where they raised their family. Jim preceded her in death on September 10, 2007.
Lois was a housewife who loved country music. She enjoyed doing woodworking projects with her husband. She spent time camping, sewing and crafting with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Whenever there was a family gathering you could always find Lois and her brothers harmonizing to various types of music. After Jim retired they moved to Pardeeville, WI, enjoyed visiting the Amish area near their home and traveling in their motor home.
Lois is survived by her children, Karen (Greg) Harmon, James (Becky) Krakofsky, Sandra (Michael) Way; grandchildren, Heather (Matt) McLeish, Stephanie (Dan Shudy) Steger, Kerry (Brad) Hondel, Lisa (Kevin) Becker, James (Sandra) Krakofsky, Curt Hegeman, Jeff Hegeman, Kim Hegeman, Mike (Becca Olson) Way, Tim (Claire) Way and Katelyn (Curtis Johnson) Way; son-in-law, William Hegeman, and 10 great grandchildren. She is further survived by her sisters-in-law, Ginny (Al) Andersen, and Ruth (Don) Andersen; and cousin, Gene (Geri) Scharfenorth. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; daughter, Gail Hegeman; brothers, Donald Andersen and Alvin Andersen, and granddaughters, Amy & Amanda.
A Celebration of Life for Lois will be held on Friday, October 13, 2017 at Doc’s on the Fox, (Back Room) 232 N. Milwaukee St., Waterford, WI, beginning at 1:00 p.m.
