RACINE — Jewel D. (nee: Helton) Bushey, 97, passed away at Woods of Caledonia on Friday, March 9, 2018.
She was born in Coldwater, AL, on May 25, 1920 to the late George and Lillian (nee: Nance) Helton.
On September 2, 1942, in Anniston, Alabama, Jewel was united in marriage to Reuben Raymond Bushey. She moved to Racine in 1957, where she worked in the accounting department at Young Radiator Co, retiring in 1982. Jewel was a member of Grace Baptist Church, and served on many boards and committees. She also enjoyed Bible study and reading.
Surviving are her daughter-in-law, Edith Bushey, grandchildren; Lynn (Brian) Hughes, and Mark (Shannon) Bushey; and great grandchildren, Logan and Bella Hughes, and Addison and Sean Bushey. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and dear friends.
Jewel was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Reuben in 1997, son, Allan in 2009, three sisters, and one brother.
Funeral services for Jewel will be held at West Lawn Memorial Park Chapel on Wednesday, March 14, 2018 at 11 a.m. with Rev. Dan Petersen officiating. A visitation will take place at the chapel from 10:30 a.m. until the time of service.
