James R. Luedtke

RACINE—James Russell Luedtke, 67, passed away at Villa at Lincoln Park, on November 6, 2017.
He was born in Racine on August 11, 1950, the son of the late Richard F. and Mary E. (nee: Dederick) Luedtke.
James was a graduate of Wm. Horlick High School “Class of 1968”. After graduation, he served his apprenticeship in carpentry achieving his Journeyman License. James was employed with various construction companies in the Racine area with such notable builders as: Kosterman Construction Company, Aspen Builders and Bukacek Construction Company, as well as owning and operating Asbury Builders.
He was also a longtime and faithful member of St. Elizabeth Catholic Church in Kenosha.
James would hold many cookouts to benefit local charities and found great satisfaction donating blood at The Blood Center of Racine. James enjoyed riding his Triumph motorcycle, and fishing in Canada with his father, Richard. He supported animal rescue organizations and held The Cob-O-Rama for over 20 years to benefit Muscular Dystrophy.
James is survived by his son, Craig (Sarah) Luedtke of Racine, daughter, Heather (Jeff) Walker of Sun Prairie, nephew, Paul (Nid) Fraid of Racine, and brother, Kurt Luedtke of Racine. He is further survived by other relatives and friends. In addition to his parents, James was preceded in death by his wife, Sheryl Ann Luedtke on December 26, 2010.
Funeral services will be held at Sturino Funeral Home on Tuesday November, 14, 2017 at 11 am with Fr. Sean Granger officiating. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 10 am until service time. Following services, James will be laid to rest at West Lawn Memorial Park.
