UNION GROVE—Donna Lee Krause, 85, passed away at her residence on October 9, 2017.
Donna was born in Madison on March 30, 1932 to the late Merle and Ina (Briggs) Waddell. She graduated from Black Earth High School in 1950, where she was proud to be a cheerleader for all 3 years. Not long after graduating she married the late Warren Nichols of Kenosha. They had 3 children. In 1971 she married Robert Krause. Donna was a lifelong homemaker who loved sewing and cooking for her family. She also enjoyed dressing up and going dancing. Donna excelled at decorating every room in her home for every holiday and season. Family, friends, neighbors and sometimes even strangers would come to see her beautifully decorated house. She loved having her great grandson Rylan living in her home and watching him grow up.
Donna is survived by her husband of 46 years, Robert; children, Sheila (Tom) Redlin, Larry (Sylvia) Nichols, Tammy (John) Wyant; step children, Evelyn (Jim) Good, Barbara (David) Guth, Renee (John) Stanton and Robert (Marilyn) Krause, Jr., 17 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren and sister Joan Stoflet. She was preceded in death by her sister Jean Carpenter, brother Merle “Mike” Waddell, Jr. and Granddaughter Amanda Guth and Brother in law Jim Stoflet.
A memorial service for Donna will be held at West Lawn Memorial Park Chapel, 9000 Washington Avenue on Friday, October 13, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. Relatives and friends may visit with the family from 1:00 p.m. until the time of services.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at Grace Hospice, especially Ashley, Whitney, Kim, Angel and Chaplain Howard for the compassionate and wonderful care given to Donna.
