Mrs. Gertrude Himebauch of 301 S. Sixth St., Waterford, will celebrate her 101st birthday with family at the home of her niece, nephew and sister Esther.
The former Gertrude Tesch was born on Sept. 24, 1916, at home on the farm in Pell Lake.
She married Donald Himebauch on Nov. 22, 1941, in St. John’s Lutheran Church in Slades Corners. He died on May 4, 2008.
Mrs. Himbauch was a nanny in her younger years. Mrs. Himebauch and her husband farmed and milked cows on their farm on Highway 50 for more than 50 years.
Mrs. Himebauch plays sheepshead three times a week at Waterford Senior Living. She crochets when her eyes allow her to.
Mrs. Himebauch is a member of St. Peter’s Church in Waterford.
Mrs. Himebauch is the mother of the late Cheryl (Paul) Svatik of Sylvania, Ohio. She has two grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
