Mrs. Dorothy E. Borowsky of 801 Montclair Drive celebrated her 95th birthday Feb. 18 with family and friends during an open house in her honor.
The former Dorothy E. Zamecnik was born on Feb. 18, 1923, in Racine.
She married William “Bill” Borowsky on Nov. 30, 1946, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Caledonia. He died on Feb. 16, 1998.
Mrs. Borowsky was a crane operator at Belle City Malleable during the war. She was employed by Western Publishing Co. Inc. for 25 years, retiring in 1985.
Mrs. Borowsky met her husband while working at Belle City Malleable.
She has crocheted many caps for Tex Reynolds Toys for Tots and, over the years, has crocheted an afghan for each of her nieces and nephews. Mrs. Borowsky enjoyed bowling and is an avid Green Bay Packers fan.
She is the oldest member of First Evangelical Lutheran Church.
Mrs. Borowsky is the mother of three children: Marilyn (Bill) Curcio and Barbara (Lyle Peterson) Borowsky of Racine, and the late Richard Borowsky. She has three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
