Mr. and Mrs. Carl Reiher of 5903 N. Meadows Drive will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary during a gathering held in their honor with family and friends.
Reiher and the former Karen Smith were married on Jan. 20, 1968, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Harvard, Ill. The couple, who met and dated in high school, has lived in Racine since 2001.
Reiher served in the U.S. Army and was deployed to Vietnam for eight months.
He worked in the floor covering business including Drexel Home Furnishings for many years, then later drove for Schneider International. He retired in 2013.
Reiher is a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. He is a member of Post 7309 and a past commander of Post 2751.
Mrs. Reiher was employed by First National Bank in Kenosha, the Kenosha Unified School District and the University of Wisconsin-Parkside, retiring in 2011.
The couple are members of St. Mary’s Lutheran Church in Kenosha.
They have three children: Kristen (John) Hudrick of Pleasant Prairie, Kim (Dan Andre) Reiher of Kenosha and Kelly (Sergio) Alicea of Racine. The couple has five grandchildren.
