Mr. and Mrs. Henry Luedtke of 15911 Plank Road, Union Grove, will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary by hosting an open house from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 7, at Trinity Lutheran Church, 2908 S. Colony Ave., Union Grove, where they are members.
Luedtke and the former Jane Lauber were married Oct. 7, 1967, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Raymond.
Luedtke was employed at SC Johnson for 38 years, retiring in 2003.
He coached Little League and Pony League baseball for Yorkville for 18 years, was president of Racine County Baseball for 15 years, assistant baseball coach at Shoreland Lutheran High School, and an umpire for baseball and softball for 35 years. Luedtke was a 4-H leader, a member of the Racine County Agriculture Society for 12 years, and served the Trinity Church council in various offices and committees. He enjoys gardening and raising chickens.
Mrs. Luedtke was a 4-H leader, a member of the WOW group of Trinity Lutheran Church and a member of the Red Hat Society. She enjoys growing flowers and baking.
The Racine natives have six children: Kyle (Dixie)of Sturgeon Bay; Eric of Arena; Jason (Tracie) of Beaver Dam; Amy (Mike) Grines of Union Grove; Travis (Sherry) of Kansasville, and Tyler (Angie) of Burlington. The Luedtkes have 18 grandchildren.
