Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Kaplan of 5721 Middle Road celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary March 25 during a luncheon and reception with family and friends at Infusino’s Banquet Hall.
Kaplan and the former Karen Petit were married on March 23, 1968, in Racine.
Kaplan served in the U.S. Air Force from 1966 to 1970.
He was employed by WE Energies as an equipment operator at the Oak Creek Power Plant. He retired in September of 2009 after 38 years of service.
Kaplan enjoys hunting, fishing and yardwork.
Mrs. Kaplan was a food service worker at Arbor Management for 26 years, retiring in September of 2016.
She enjoys sewing, quilting and playing cards.
The Racine natives are members of the Caledonia Historical Society and Wild Ones, an organization that promotes landscaping of native plants and natural landscapes.
The Kaplans especially enjoy visiting with their children, grandchildren, and extended family and friends.
They have been members of St. Rita Catholic Church since 1971.
The couple has three children: Kim (Brian) Lash and Michael of Racine, and Chris of Fort Atkinson. The Kaplans have five grandchildren.
