MOUNT PLEASANT — Demolition of the former Little Saints Child Care Center is under way to make way for a Walmart Neighborhood Market.

The 41,000-square-foot grocery store with pharmacy will be built this year at 5625 Washington Ave., near the intersection of highways 20 and 31.

Demolition included the removal of numerous large trees on the site.

The estimated $10 million store will be built for Wal-Mart by Gatlin Development Co.

The Village of Mount Pleasant approved the proposal last year after the developers met all 28 conditions.

u guys complain enuf

I can't afford Pic n Save.

Just what we need......another friggin' Wal-Mart. They have the nastiest meat, full of water weight and red dye colors, along with carbon monoxide to keep it fresh looking beyond the sell-by date!....I will NOT buy food there....I prefer Pick N Save. Walmart is just trying to get in between the two Pick N Save stores on Hwy 31. It won't stop me from shopping where I know the food is fresh.

I am not going to shop there.
